Balvenie 12-Year-Old Double Wood was first launched in 1993 and quickly became an icon and symbol of what this distillery was capable of producing. Its name comes from its aging process which involves spending exactly 11 years and 3 months in refill American oak bourbon casks before being transferred to first fill European oak Sherry casks. The result is a well-balanced whiskey with bourbon’s subtle spiciness and hints of vanilla and char along with a fine sherry’s honey sweetness and the tang of golden sultanas.
